Welcome to the 2024 Yamato Repair Skilling Program!

I am very pleased to add the video version of the Yamato Repair Run Tutorial that Tedros Daemonos and his wife Lilith Nawa Hydra (avatar name) created as a fun way to experience what is required during a repair skilling run that are only available on non-event Saturdays. Ted has added fun games and prizes to be given out on repair run dates.

They employed AltTab the TabTab to act as a guide to bring the process to life. Ted also added a Closed Caption feature where you are able to choose your native language to follow along. After all, the tutorial is presented in a TabTab voice. :p

Once you open the video:
  • click on Settings
  • click on the CC icon
  • choose your native language
  • enjoy the video
And here's something really special about this video ... except for the log-in portion at the beginning, all of the other background music was composed by Tedros ... seems we discovered yet another musical talent in our community. Stay tuned for future offerings.

We want to thank Ted and Lilith for taking the time (lots of it) to put together a fun tutorial for our repair skilling runs. Both of them have now been added to the VS Media Team because I know we'll see more from them going forward.

ENJOY !!

The voice of AltTab is Lilith Nawa Hydra.

Repair runs will be in non-lootable Monria space every non-event Saturday. See the Repair Run Schedule for dates and times.
There will be no summons. The crew is expected to board using the Monria Space Station TP, and then to the Yamato.

There will be announcements 1 hour, 30 minutes, and 15 minutes before the runs.

PLEASE NOTE:

Captains cannot add people to the ship's guest list. Only people who are already on the guest list on the day of the runs can join.
The instructions to sign up for the guestlist are here: Virtualsense Space Travel | Sign-Up & Guest List

Behavior and Responsibilities Onboard:
  • - When you are at the space station waiting for the Yamato to arrive, use the #yamato channel to communicate with the crew to determine when the ship will arrive at the space station. Be aware that the Yamato pilot will not interrupt a run to pick you up.
  • - Once you are onboard, you will communicate with the rest of the crew in #Force Channel and it needs to be monitored for instructions.
  • - Be polite and respectful at all times. You are not the only player onboard working on increasing skills. Other repairers and the pilot are as well.
  • - Follow all of the directions of the Pilot assigned to the repair run, as well as the management team (Tedros 420 Daemonos and Monria Fleet Manager)
  • - Only enter Co-Pilot or Gunner Seat when Pilot has given permission to do so
  • - Be sure not to block other people repairing, especially at the downstairs Hangar panel
  • - If you do go AFK, please inform the Pilot when leaving, and again upon your return
  • - Please do not leave the ship during a repair skilling run unless you have to go back to the SS
  • - Inform the Pilot if you are leaving the ship through the hangar portal so you don't end up in a mob mess
  • - Keep the game in Window Mode so that the auto-tool keeps going. Using Alt + Tab in full screen will cause your repair tool to pause
  • - Do not interact with pirates.
  • - To get the equipment for repairing use Monria Shops Inventory Tool to search which shops carry the equipment. If no equipment is available, the Pilot on duty will have spares available for purchase.
Keep in mind that being rude and disruptive can lead to ship privileges being revoked.

PROCEDURES:

Here is what we want to avoid ...

YamatoExplosion.png

The way we operate the ship is built around efficiency, for both pilots and repairers. We target the runs to keep skill gains going for everyone.
  • - When you board, say hello to your fellow repairers and crew in #Force
  • - There are repair stations at the Hangar (HH), Propulsion (PP), Command Center (CC), and Reactor (RR).
  • - If you do not see the health bars of the stations, check behind your chat window.
Damage to the ship needs to be evenly spread across all stations.

If one station reaches 0 HP, the ship explodes and returns to the station. The dry mobs that were attacking return to the training grounds.
  • - The Captain will assign you a repair station. There is a tour of the different repair stations at Yamato | Tour.
  • - Equip your repair tool and right-click on the station to start repairing.
  • - Stay at your assigned station unless the Captain instructs you to move to another.
  • - If the Captain tells you to move to another station, announce that you are moving.
  • ------> For example: HH>RR
  • - When the pilot tells the crew to report in, respond with your station.
  • ------> For example: @RR
  • - At the end of a repair skilling run, please depart the ship

I updated the first post with the very special Yamato Repair Run Tutorial created by Tedros Daemonos and wife Lilith Nawa Hydra where they introduce to us AltTab the TabTab as our guide on how the runs are conducted ... check out the details.

Except for the log in at the beginning, the rest of the background music was composed by Tedros ... another community music talent.
