Heh, just did another thread regarding this in the "Toulan Forum" section. The forum has definitely been overrun!

And 60 sec waiting between post reports is unacceptable. I report every spam message but there are 2 new by the time I'm able to report next one.

Yeah just saw it low, usually my eyes are at Activity stream, but been hard following since the spam lol.
Anyway i will edit first post and refer to your thread instead.

And I will refer to this thread in my post... that way, hopefully, a mod will see at least one of the threads when they finally log in. LOL

I've been attacked a few times by this type of stupid spam bot. Each time to stop it, just had to take the site or page down for like 15min or so and it would stop.

That's one way to stop them... hrm, if only there were a forum mod about that could do this! ;)

There does not seem to be any measure to make it a little more difficult to sign up, like CAPCHA for instance, or questions you need to answer before you sing up. Even simple questions, like "how many letter are there in the word TOULAN" help a lot.

Anyway, I haven't been able to play as of late, so if there is an opening for modding, I'm up for the task. There will need to be more as to cover more time zones. ;)

A human is probably signing each account up, then the account goes wild with hundreds of posts about viagra.

I recommend what the Ark forum has done, they have had problems with spam in the past too. They may do more behind the scenes that I don't know about (you could talk to Snape or Van), but they have it set so that anyone with -10 reputation score can't post. So instead of waiting for the mods to get online, the users just neg rep any spam messages. I don't see any reputation system on this forum, so that's one solution you might want to look into.

There are some spambot killers avalable but the mod has sometimes to kill some by hand and add them to the library of the spamkiller program then it can be shared with other forums.
