  • Situated at the Pyramid of Shut’thend -- /wp [DSEC9, 38932, 18918, 130, Waypoint]
  • The event is triggered by placing an offering at Cthylla’s Altar situated at the entrance to the Pyramid
  • The Altar can only be activated by a player with the item in their inventory.
  • The activation item must be retrieved (looted) from the Cult of Shut’thend (Cultists) outside and inside the Pyramid and handed in at Cthylla’s Altar to start the Dynamic Event.
  • The Event is designed to be completed by groups of players and includes low-level creatures for mixed-level play.
  • Defeat the Cultists defending the Pyramid, Kill the Spawn of Cthylla outside and inside the Pyramid, and face Cthylla
  • Once the defenders have been defeated the Pyramid door will close and can only be entered via the insta-teleporter by the revive.

  • An Elder Blessing is bestowed on each member of the Team on the success of the Event. The Elder Blessing is a skill increase buff lasting one hour with the strength determined by the Contribution Tier Reached.

This item is not a common drop and may take a while to acquire.

Once you have looted the Cthylla Bone, an exclamation mark appears on the altar...
It is consumed on use.

Now... The Fun Begins...

Phase 1/4​
Kill the Defenders. (Cultists)
Kill the Hatchlings to the West. (Spawn of Cthylla)
Kill the Hatchlings to the East. (Spawn of Cthylla)

You need to get all 3 bars to 100% (2h time limit)

Phase 2/4​
Destroy the Spawn of Cthylla. (2h time limit)
The mobs are outside the Pyramid - and at this point the door to the Pyramid is still closed.

You need to fill the bar to 100%

**note**
  • She hits hard and does AoE damage.
  • Work together as a group to kill her.
  • There is no cooldown for this event. If someone has a Cthylla Bone they can trigger the event again.
  • A lot of damage testing was done by Avalon and it appears to be impact, cold, and cut damage, along with the AoE of course.
Avalon did more testing with the Pyramid event mobs and here are his results:

Thank you for the great write-up Shadow, did you get a sense of the damage type the new mobs do? Also, just for everyone's information, Dak got his bone from the shared loot Cultists inside the pyramid, that are there when no event is active. Seem it doesn't have to be the non-shared loot ones on the outside.

no conclusion yet but from the discussions that was happening during phase 2 for the Spawn of Cthylla mobs... Perseus with electric plates did alright but seems there might be some cold?

Yes the Cthylla bone can also come from the shared loot mobs from within the Pyramid, Malgar also got his from the ones inside the Pyramid too, I got mine from ones around it.

Will add more info when known...

Been on it for a week now, and seems the bone drops more freely now, ill invite for a cthylla run soon :)
