Does taming a mob count towards its Codex?

I heard that the Codex is coming to Monria soon. Does anyone know if the Leprechaun Taming Daily Mission will count towards the Codex?

(Does taming a mob count for the Codex, or do you have to kill it?)

It would seem that Leprechauns are not Codex mobs. That or I'm bugged as I have scanned, killed and tamed them.

I noticed the Leprechauns are not part of the Codex as well.

Leprechauns are pets, and only the Iron Missions for the mobs were put into Codex.

Same here. I do the mission for the Daily Token and skills. I just wondered how taming and the Codex would work if Leprechauns had been added to the Codex.

It wouldn't work for taming, for some reason the taming mechanism doesn't allow for codex progress.
Not sure if that's intended or a bug.
