Hello, my name is Lavinia Whateley. I chose to begin my EU adventure on Monria as I couldn't resist the mysterious and somewhat creepy tales I had heard about events on this moon.
I honestly wasn't aware of the Monria born program, and during my first hour or so on the moon I received a message from DarkMoonEnigma to meet up, where I was delighted and somewhat embarrassed to be given such a warm welcome, including items to help me survive here, and links to a wonderful forum and an amazing interactive map. It did make quite an impression on me, as my previous experience in an online world was arriving in Elwynn Forest, with nobody offering any assistance, and feeling quite lost for what to do next.
I finally had enough of goblins and flying horses, so when a family member mentioned EU I was keen to see here for myself.
I must say I am very happy to see such a friendly and active chatter in the Monria chat window, it does help knowing that I am not alone when I am fleeing in terror from a slavering Shoggoth.
I have downloaded and begun reading the wonderful PDF books about Monria, it did make my skin tingle learning that poetry by Mr Kipling had been found here in a cave. Intriguing but at the same time quite unsettling.
I was startled yesterday by the unexpected sound of trumpets coming from a Shoggoth corpse, and was not at all prepared. Oh dear, perhaps "you are not prepared" is a truism that applies to all games? ;-)
Well, today I was pleased to catch these three while completing the 100 Yog mission. It feels like Monria is welcoming me here, or perhaps simply enticing me to stay with sweet and sticky treats before later revealing to me the true darkness and horror of this moon.
I hope to see you out and about in the caves or craters. If a very pale girl hurtles past you, waving Hellooooo while running in terror from some ugly brute creature, that is possibly me. (the girl, not the creature).
