Hey all,

I wasn't planning on making any kind of public statement. Especially when there is nothing concrete to share with the community but given the recent announcement and the obvious concerns within the community as a response, I feel its only fair that I make some kind of comment.

I'm only speaking on behalf of myself and no other party.

For a while now we've been entering into good faith discussions with Mindark about the future direction of Planet Toulan and how we can continue to be a positive contributor. I won't be sharing any of these discussions but some of it has been made public in the following release:

I was unaware that these details were being shared but what we have been presented with are two options as quoted:

'MindArk has extended an invitation to existing Planet Partners to incorporate these new tools when they become available'

or

'any existing planet that elects not to transition to the new development tools will face a cataclysmic extinction event within four years ( Hold Over Period)'

I know you all will have a lot of questions but I'm afraid I'm unable to answer them. I'm unclear as to what these new tools are exactly, at what stage they are in development, when they will be available or any other of the details that I'm sure you will want to know.

It is also unclear to me what impact the 'cataclysmic event' will have to your game play or items.

I can't really go into too many details and I really don't have much information to share even if I felt it was the right thing to do but do please share your concerns, excitement, questions and comments. I would love to hear it as we decide whether to take the blue pill or the red pill :)

In all reality with the lack of information from MA and the generalness, this is ultimately a business decision and I for one will support whatever decision is made as more information is released. There is much uncertainty in EU right now, none of which was caused by the PP's but yet once again the PP's are who will have to address the majority of the inquiries, disdain, and panic. In my humble opinion the PP's need to do what is best for them with the ultimatum that has essentially been issued.

It feels like they are throwing their planet partners under the bus here, changes made with no concern to whoever it might impact.

It's getting tiresome how they run things at mindark. They keep adding new initiatives without addressing the ones the customer/playerbase is highlighting.

I feel bad for virtualsense/arkadia/Cyrene in how little you're left with of information. A typical trademark of mindark, a lack of communication.

I really hope that toulan/monria/DSEC can stay and thrive under the new circumstances, but if you choose not to transition I would be pretty sure it's with good reason.

I'll just say what I think, which is what many people think too...

For years, MA has ignored the PPs, hindered their work due to "balance," nerfed armor, removed weapon stats, while completely favoring Calypso... The new acquisition of NI and RT, as well as the new Howling Mine, puts them in a dominant position...

DSEC9, Toulan, Arkadia, and Cyrene are unnecessary...

So they invent a new technology that will require (in my theory) a large outlay of money, as well as new obstacles...
And one day, one PP will get tired and sell their planet back to Mindark... and then another... and another... and the plan will be fulfilled: To have everything under absolute control again since they decided to become a "Planetary Content Platform"... but with Calypso as the absolute favorite...

It's just a theory, but oh well...

So, good discussions with MA, but at the same time bad communication, if I understand correctly?

Did MA actually give* you those 2 options? And did you choose to not make use of them? Or am I just reading things wrong?

I have personally loved the concept of EU since i created my account in 2017, i had the same struggles trying to figure out "what EU is" as probably most of the player base. is it gambling, investing, just an expensive MMO.

Spent hours scouring the web for info and others experience/knowledge to inform my decisions.
I want to believe it is an investment though as the years go by and more forum topics pop up regarding broken systems and unfullfilled promises, it just looks like one of those shady strip mall arcades with the scales tipping towards a really expensive MMO without thr content.

With the amount of real money that is thrown around in this game one would assume MA would have theyre customers and partners best interests in mind, because what is good for us is good for MA (player retention and growth via word of mouth).

I dont see this. Like many others all i see is cash grabs. And it frustrates me. On one hand I want to put money into this game and be successfull, on the other i have dwindling faith MA will do anything to benefit anyone other than themselves.
